Recipe for a Sentence Anchor Chart

Sharing is caring!

I used this Recipe for a Sentence anchor chart to introduce my 2nd graders to the idea of topic and predicate.  To make it a little extra “kid-friendly,” we known as the topic the naming a part of the sentence.  It names who or what the sentence is about.  The predicate is the telling a part of the sentence.  It tells what occurs.  Since we in addition they find out about capitalization and punctuation, I included these, too.  The thought was to tie topic and predicate in with what they already knew about full sentences.
